  • On-Going:  Volunteer Help Needed:  IFC Treasurer
    The Bainbridge Island/North Kitsap Interfaith Council (“IFC”) an association of 19 area faith congregations, is searching for a person affiliated with one of these congregations to become IFC’s new Treasurer, to replace Pat Johnson, who is resigning the position after many years of faithful service.
    Job description:  IFC has an annual budget of $2,500, resulting almost entirely from contributions of member congregations, and used to support various IFC programs and  help certain other worthy causes in the community.  The treasurer:
    -collects and deposits the member contributions, and maintains the resulting bank checking and savings accounts;
    - issues checks for IFC expenditures – these average about 5 checks per month;
    - assists in preparing an annual proposed budget, and also prepares reports of               income and expenditures for IFC’s 10 monthly meetings (September through June).  Existing software and related formats facilitate preparation of these materials.
    Pat estimates that she spends an average of about 5 hours per month in these activities
    Qualifications/training?  Prior treasurer or accounting experience is not necessary. Our new Treasurer will receive from Pat whatever orientation and “training” is needed.
    Involvement with IFC. The new Treasurer will be welcomed to attend IFC meetings as a delegate from his or her congregation.  She or he can thus be directly involved in IFC’s ongoing efforts toward sharing, respecting and celebrating our different religious traditions and seeking common, faith-based ground in working together for good in the community and beyond.  For more information, please contact Kent Chadwick, IFC President, at 842-2119.
